Mechanical/Electrical Project Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Mechanical/Electrical Project Manager will manage multiple jobs sites with the implementation of inspection within the facility infrastructures and general building projects to assure that contractors’ compliance is in adherence to the project requirements. You will offer analysis on a variety of value engineering options.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team. You will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of facility infrastructure, and general building projects to assure Contractors’ compliance with project requirements both in the field and through their submittals, as well as offer analysis of a variety of value engineering options. You will work under the supervision of the overall Project Manager or Project Executive and help us build and grow our Mechanical/Electrical expertise.

The Wm. Blanchard Co. is currently searching for a Mechanical/Electrical Project Manager (or either single discipline) with a minimum of 10 years of experience, to join our Construction Management team on projects within the New Jersey Area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Major Duties and Responsibilities):

• Manage the firm’s day-to-day MEP construction efforts on various projects.
• Manage and monitor daily MEP site activities for coordination with all building trades and perform inspections to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
• Assist with preparation of budgets and review of subcontractors’ pricing to verify compliance with the contract documents.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the review and analysis of design MEP drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of daily site activities in coordination with all building trades and perform inspections to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
• Assist with budget preparation and review subcontractors’ pricing to verify compliance with the contract documents.
• Attend frequent Project Management and scheduling meetings and present project status reports.
• Review contractor quotes for negotiations to prepare bid packages and scope preparations if delegated.
• Process, track and converse with contractors/subcontractors to obtain all required documents needed to process project close outs with expedience.
• Process, track and follow up on submittals, change order and or requests for information (RFI’s) to and from the contractors/ subcontractors to resolve pending matters with efficiency.
• Conduct and manage submittals of MEPFP audits from Superintendents by providing collaborative inspections and submitting updates and accurate documentation to the Project Manager monthly.
• Train and mentor MEP APM’s to learn MEP estimating and the bidding process.
• This position requires a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record as you must travel to multiple jobsites throughout New Jersey.
• Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively represent Blanchard Co.

Required Qualifications:
• 10 years construction experience, preferably with some experience in medical facilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Proficiency in review and analysis of design MEP drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• This position requires a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
• New Jersey PE license required.
• Interest and ability to network, support proposals and contribute to firm growth in the New Jersey construction market.
